The Borgata Winter Poker Open is Coming to Atlantic City in January

Poker fans can head to the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City or log online this January to compete in the popular Borgata Winter Poker Open. The series will run from January 1-26, giving players tons of gaming action, with an amazing $10 million guaranteed prize money on offer.

New Jersey online casino and poker players look forward to the Open every year as it offers massive prize pools and plenty of events for everyone. Director of poker operations for Borgata, Kellie DeCelis, commented that Borgata is a premier gaming destination, and the world-class poker tournaments are included in what makes the casino a draw for visitors.

Last year’s tournament, known as The Return, was a great success, so the casino is excited to offer the Poker Open series again and provide several gaming options for guests.

Buy-ins for events will range from $200 to $5,300, making most tournaments affordable for everyone. High roller options are mixed in, which will bring the heavy hitters to the casino. Almost the entire month of January will feature poker gaming, with the schedule set to offer mixed games, ladies' events, and senior tournaments.

Several stand-out events are sure to be big draws for poker players. On January 2, the $800 NLH DeepStack Kickoff begins, offering a $2 million guaranteed prize pool. The following week, the $500 NLH Almighty Stack will take place, featuring $1 million in guaranteed prize money.

The $2,200 NLH Mystery Bounty will take place January 14-18, offering $2 million in prizes. On January 17, players can compete in the $1,100 PLO Championship, enjoying a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool. The NLH Mini Mystery event is also expected to draw a crowd with its $500 buy-in and $250,000 prize pool. The event takes place January 23-25.

The Borgata Winter Poker Open is not limited to land-based play. The Borgata has teamed up with BetMGM Poker NJ to offer weekly packages starting in December. The prize packages will be available through January, allowing players to compete at a lower price to earn seats for big series events.

The prize packages will include tournament entries, a hotel stay, and benefits for travel. The online poker room will feature nightly qualifiers for several events, including the Mystery Bounty, Almighty Million, Kickoff, and Championship events.

Entry fees to qualifiers will start at $2, which is quite affordable. Players who win can earn seats at a low price point, making attending the Poker Open less expensive. Seats can be secured to the Poker Open online starting on December 3.

Online registration for the NJ online casino events will begin on December 3 as well. You can skip the line at the casino registration table and register online on this day. The Borgata is known for offering incentives to players who register early online, though it is unclear if extras will be provided for this series.

The Winter Poker Open will be a major event featuring players from across the US and possibly abroad. Director of Poker Operations DeCellis recently announced a little news on the event during the Nerdthusiast Poker Podcast.

She revealed that there will be nine live-stream events, where fans can tune in online to the action. Four final tables will be live-streamed, and players can watch along on YouTube. There will also be streams available for live cash games.

Many players participating in such tournaments will use cash games as an option in between events. There will be a high roller option, a ladies' event, and more to discover at the Borgata.
