The UK Poker Tour, being one of the most anticipated tournaments, was sadly brought to an end by the pandemic which saw restrictions and safety concerns limit the chances of poker players getting the full experience. The final UK Tour event which was held at Aspers Casino had the largest turnout the tour had ever recorded with more than 714 entries creating a record prize pool of £141,372.
The prize of the tournament was won by British player Lawrence Cullen for £25,500. Among the 80 players that cashed in are Unibet Ambassador David Lappin, James Mitchell, William Kassouf, and Unibet’s former Head of Poker David Pomroy.
Nataly Sopacuaperu, Unibet’s Head of Events, said: “We really loved the UK tour but, with COVID likely having an impact on all live poker for the foreseeable future, we don’t want our players to miss out. Supermoon is going to be something truly special with an amazing qualifier schedule; there will be tons of satellites running round the clock starting from as a little as two cents. UK Tour fans should also rest assured that all current UK Tour tickets will either be converted to bonus points or Supermoon tickets, depending on their value.”
The first Supermoon event kicks off on May 2. All players will be offered a 6,000 starting stack. There will be a late reg as well as a single rebuy option for the first eight levels.
At the start, Unibet Poker will be running two weekly finals with a four-ticket guaranteed tournament coming every Wednesday and an eight-ticket guarantee event taking place on Sundays. UK tour tickets will either be converted to bonus points or Supermoon tickets in the following order.

Many Unibet Poker players were not too thrilled that the Unibet UK Tour met its untimely end. However, they were ready to accept the new offer.
